When Democracy is Hijacked

A BBC investigation estimates that around $23 billion(£11.75bn) may have been lost, stolen or just not properly accounted for in Iraq.

What is even worse is the U.S. has used a gagging order keeping any allegations of war profiteering and corruption under wraps and barred from open discussion. This order applies to 70 court cases against some of America's top companies.

To date no U.S. contractor have faced trial on mismanagement or fraud for work done in Iraq. This is another shame full example of corruption in the Bush Administration that has been rampant for the last eight years. Though, this should come as no surprise when Bush and his cronies would rather protect large telecommunication companies then the civil liberties of U.S. citizens.
